BOARD OF FOREIGN SERVICE ADMINISTRATION

FUNCTION
The Board of the
Foreign Service Administration makes recommendations to the
Secretary concerning:
-
the functions
and operations of the service;
-
the policies and
procedures to govern the selection, assignment, promotion,
discipline and separation from the service of officers and
employees; and
-
the policies to
govern the administration and personnel management of the
Service.
The Board is composed
of one of the Undersecretaries as Chair, and the two
Undersecretaries and the Assistant Secretaries of the different
offices in the department, and the Director of the Foreign Service
Institute as members.
