FUNCTION

The Office of Strategic Planning and Policy Coordination, an office under the Office of the Secretary,

is responsible for strategic planning and the formulation of long term policies on foreign relations. To fulfill this responsibility, OSPPC undertakes the following tasks:

• assess existing policies,

• monitor and evaluate the implementation of Philippine foreign policy,

• review policy recommendations to the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, to other Departments and/ or to the President, and

• recommend policy directions, as appropriate.

The Office is headed by an Assistant Secretary and is assisted by a Policy Advisory Board (PAB), which meets at least once a month to discuss policy issues and policy direction for adoption by the Department.
