The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) was created in 1966 to  promote and preserve Filipino arts and culture. CCP has four resident dance companies: Ballet Philippines, the Philippine Ballet Theatre, the Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group, and the Bayanihan Philippine National Folk Dance Company. Tanghalang Pilipino is the CCP's resident theater company. The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, the UST Symphony Orchestra, the Philippine Madrigal Singers and the National Music Competitions for Young Artists Foundation (NAMCYA) are the resident music companies. The CCP also covers the mass media as well as the literary and visual arts, encouraging the growth of aspiring artists in these fields through numerous workshops, competitions and awards. The best artists in the Philippines and of the world have left their imprint on the CCP theaters and galleries, enthralling Filipinos and foreign visitors for over thirty years.

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) is the overall policy-making body for Philippine culture. It coordinates and gives grants, and functions as the official body for the preservation, development and promotion of Philippine arts and culture.

The National Library of the Philippines is one of the government's repository of the Philippines' printed and recorded cultural heritage. It is tasked to provide access to the public of its intellectual literary and information sources towards intellectual growth, citizenship building, life-long learning and enlightenment.

The National Historical Commission of the Philippines is mandated to undertake the research and publication of Philippine historical works; the educational activities on historical events and personages; the restoration, preservation and conservation of movable and immovable objects of historical value and implementation of the National Historic Act of the Philippines (Presidential Decrees 260 and 1505); the administration of historic sites, structures and memorabilia of national heroes; and the blazoning of government symbols and implementation of Republic Act 8491 or “The Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines.”

The National Archives of the Philippines is responsible for the preservation of the primary sources of information on Philippine history, the basic components of cultural heritage and collective memory. It also ensures that these documents and records are preserved and accessible to the public. The National Archives of the Philippines is the home of about 60 million documents from over 300 years of Spanish rule in the Philippines, the American and Japanese occupations, as well as the early years of the Philippine Republic. It is also the final repository for the voluminous notarized documents of the country.
