Public Advisory on Passport Release

29 January 2013 – The Department of Foreign Affairs Office of Consular Affairs (DFA-OCA) would like to advise the public that there will be a delay of 2 to 3 days on the release of the electronic passports (ePassports) due from January 28 to February 02 because of a machine breakdown.

Passport applicants who are expecting their passports this week are advised to call (632) 836-7745, (632) 836-7747 or e-mail DFA-OCA at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it so they can make the necessary and appropriate arrangements on how their passports can be delivered to them. DFA-OCA is also prepared to issue machine-readable passports on a limited basis in cases of extreme emergency.

The Department would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused the public.

Measures are being implemented and the Department has received the assurances and commitment of Oberthur Technology to stabilize operations immediately.

Operations will normalize by Monday, February 04.

DFA-OCA continues to accept passport applications in its offices in Metro Manila and all Regional Consular Offices as well as its Foreign Service Posts.

Passport applicants in Manila may secure an appointment by logging on at the website www.passport.com.ph or by calling (632) 737-1000. END

Per Proclamation No. 459 issued by the Office of the President, February 25, People Power Anniversary, is observed as a special holiday only for all schools. In this regard, February 25 is a working day for all government agencies.

No passport appointments and authentication of civil documents will be scheduled on those dates. However, on-call skeletal forces at the Passport Division (including Courtesy Lane and Diplomatic and Official Passports Section) and the Authentication Division shall be designated to answer queries related to passport and authentication of civil documents.

Isang Public Advisory mula sa DFA-Lucena

22 January 2013 - Malugod na ipinababatid ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Regional Consular Office sa Lucena (DFA-Lucena) na bukas ang kanilang tanggapan sa publiko mula Lunes hanggang Sabado sa ganap na ika-9:00 ng umaga hanggang ika-6:00 ng hapon para sa processing at releasing ng passport. Wala po silang lunch break kaya tuluy-tuloy po ang kanilang serbisyo publiko.

Pinapayuhan rin ang mga aplikante na iwasang pumunta nang mas maaga sa takdang oras ng pagbubukas ng tanggapan upang maiwasan ang matagal na paghihintay sa labas ng mall.

Ito po ang mga kinakailangang dokumento ng mga bagong aplikante:

Authenticated Birth Certificate na galing sa National Statistics Office (NSO);

Proof of identity, gaya ng mga sumusunod: School ID, Company ID, yearbook/ Annual Book, Driver’s Licence, PRC ID, Credit Card with picture, Seaman’s book, Digitized SSS ID, Private Security Licence ID, IBP ID, Digitized BIR ID, GSIS e-card, Senior Citizen’s ID, Voter’s ID or Voter’s Registration Record with official receipt;

Authenticated Marriage Contract (para sa mga kababaihan na may asawa).

Mangyari po lamang na personal na magtungo ang mga aplikante sa tanggapan ng DFA-Lucena sa ikatlong palapag ng Pacific Mall, Lucena, Quezon.

Cancellation of Sunday Operations of All DFA Consular Offices in Mall Establishments Beginning January 13

11 January 2013 – In view of the low client turnout on Sundays, the DFA has decided to discontinue its Sunday operations in the following Regional Consular Offices (RCOs) and Metro Manila satellite offices beginning January 13:

  • DFA NCR-East (SM Megamall)
  • DFA NCR-Central (Robinson’s Galleria)
  • DFA NCR-West (SM City Manila)
  • RCO Cebu
  • RCO Pampanga
  • RCO General Santos
  • RCO Davao
  • RCO Baguio City
  • RCO Legazpi
  • RCO Lipa City 
  • RCO Lucena and
  • RCO Angeles City 

No releasing of passports at DFA Consular Offices will be carried out on Sundays.

DFA Office of Consular Affairs is Closed on Non-Working Holidays

29 November 2012 – The Office of Consular Affairs of the Department of Foreign Affairs will be closed on the following non-working holidays:

            30 November 2012             -           Bonifacio Day (regular holiday)

            24 December 2012              -           Special non-working holiday (by virtue of  Proclamation   No. 361. 2. 2012)

            25 December 2012              -           Christmas Day (regular holiday)

            30 December 2012              -           Rizal Day (regular holiday)

            31 December 2012              -           Last day of the year (special non-working holiday)

            1 January 2013                    -           New Year’s Day (regular holiday)

In view of the above, the Office of Consular Affairs will be closed and no passport appointments will be scheduled on those dates. However, on-call skeletal forces at the Passport Division (including Courtesy Lane and Diplomatic and Official Passports Section or DOPS) and the Authentication Division shall be designated to answer queries related to passports and authentication of civil documents.
