24 January 2012- The Philippine Embassy in Beijing and the Philippine Consulates General in Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Xiamen, Hong Kong and Macau would like to advise the public to be wary of employment offers in semi-skilled jobs in China, as these sectors remain restricted and closed to foreigners.

DFA Raises Alert Level 3 in South Sudan

10 January 2012 - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced today that it raises the crisis alert level in South Sudan to alert level 3 (voluntary repatriation) in light of the deteriorating security situation caused by inter-ethnic violence in the country, as well as for the protection of Filipinos in the area.

"For prudence's sake, we have raised crisis alert level 3 in South Sudan in light of escalating violence in the capital where most of our nationals are located.  We are ready to move our people out, should they wish to leave," Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert F. del Rosario said.

Phl Embassy in Oslo Warns Against Unlicensed, Unaccredited and Informal Norwegian Language Schools/Courses and Agents in Phl

12 December 2011- The Philippine Embassy in Oslo reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that it has received complaints that various unlicensed, unaccredited and informal Norwegian Language Schools/Courses are proliferating in the Philippines.

The Norwegian Government has not accredited, licensed or recognized any Norwegian Language School/Course operating in the Philippines for profit, nor does it deal or cooperate with any agent or agency.
