DFA Consular Office Adds 500 New Appointment Slots to Respond to Consular Needs

06 May 2011 - To respond to the recent unprecedented increase in passport applications, the Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of Consular Affairs (DFA-OCA) has added 500 new appointment slots to the regular 4,500 appointments available each working day for passport applications.

DFA Consular Office Issues Advisory on Passport Applications

04 May 2011 - The Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of Consular Affairs (DFA-OCA) wishes to inform the public that measures have been put in place to address the delay in the processing and releasing of passports which are caused by the recent unprecedented increase in passport applications and other technical concerns.

The DFA will extend up to one year the validity of the current expiring passports of applicants who have urgent travel. The extension will be free of charge while  the applicants are waiting for the release of their new electronic passports (ePassports).

Phl Embassy in Rome Warns Against Bogus Job Offers in Italy

27 April 2011-The Philippine Embassy in Rome warns prospective employees about bogus job offers being circulated among Filipinos in Italy and in the Philippines using L'Aquila, Italy as a purported destination for Filipino workers.

The project proponent in the email represents itself as the "Ministry of Development, Public Works and Housing Reconstruction of Earthquake Affected Cities Program, which is alledgedly under the Auspices of World Rehabilitation Program (WRP) and Italian Freedom Corps (IFC)".
