11 June 2012 - The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai joined in the celebration of the Philippines' 114th Proclamation of Independence organized by Filcom-Dubai-NE last June 08 at the Al Safa Stadium.
Philippine Consul General to Dubai Benito B. Valeriano thanked the Filipino Community for their overwhelming support for the Consulate's various programs. He also expressed his gratitude to those who came to celebrate Independence Day headed by Mr. Alan Bacason.
The Consulate's overseas absentee voting (OAV) registration Team headed by Vice Consul Geronimo Suliguin was also present to allow those in attendance to have an opportunity to register for next year's election. A total of 180 individuals registered.
Similarly, the Pag-IBIG Team headed by Attaché Jareno, was also in attendance to entice new members as well as provide information on the programs and services available through Pag-IBIG.
The whole day celebration was open to all expatriates and featured performances from various Filipino organizations. Numerous booths were also present where one can get food, Filipino delicacies, souvenir items, promotional giveaways and more. Performances of GMA Pinoy TV talents Jennylyn Mercado and Jay-R capped the celebration. END
