15 June 2012 - The Philippine Consulate General in New York, Philippine Mission to the United Nations (UN) in New York, Philippine Trade and Investment Center, Department of Tourism, and the Philippine Center Management Board held a joint flag-raising ceremony last June 12 to mark the 114th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine Independence.
After the singing of "Lupang Hinirang" and the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, the Independence Day messages of President Benigno S. Aquino III and Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert F. del Rosario were read by Ambassador Libran Cabactulan and Consul General Mario L. De Leon, Jr., respectively.
The personnel of the different offices housed in the Philippine Center New York likewise took part in a photo opportunity session and a Filipino Breakfast-Fellowship. END.
