15 June 2012- The Filipino Community and the Philippine Embassy in Budapest celebrated the 114th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine Independence at the Chancery last June 12.
Filipinos from Budapest and other parts of Hungary were in attendance for the flag-raising ceremony.
The singing of the Philippine National Anthem was followed by the reading of the messages of the President and the Secretary of Foreign Affairs.
Ambassador Eleonor Jaucian read the President's message while First Secretary Patricia Barrera read the Secretary's message.
A simple breakfast was served afterwards.
The flag ceremony is part of the various events of the Embassy for the Philippine Independence Day, including the hosting of a Diplomatic Reception on June 18 and the Pistang Pinoy for the Filipino Community on June 24. END
