19 June 2012 - The Philippine Embassy in Brussels hosted a diplomatic reception at the Embassy's Chancery to commemorate the 114th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine Independence on June 11.
An estimated 150 guests from the diplomatic corps, the Belgian and Luxembourg governments and the European Union (EU) attended the event. There were also several guests from the private sector, the academe and policy think-tanks.
While the reception was ongoing, a video on Philippine tourism destinations including the country's newly-launched slogan "It's More Fun in the Philippines" was projected on a wide screen for everyone to watch.
The diplomatic reception was the first hosted by Philippine Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg Victoria S. Bataclan since her assumption last October. END
