20 June 2012 - Our kababayans registering last June 13 for the overseas absentee voting (OAV) were surprised to receive the June 2012 issue of Illustrado magazine featuring 114 Years of Philippine Independence. The treat included vouchers at a Filipino restaurant and product samples.

Vice Consul Geronimo Suliguin also quizzed the Filipinos on Philippine Independence which the group gamely participated in. Those who were able to give the correct answers were handed the chic "It's More Fun" sunglasses, well-suited for Dubai's summer sun.

Aside from the regular OAV registration conducted at the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai's premises from Sundays through Thursdays, the Consulate's OAV Team will also conduct field registrations on June 22 at the the Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ, on June 29 at the Filipino Club RAK Socio-Cultural and Sports Center in Ras Al-Khaima and on July 20 at the St. Francis Church in Jebel Ali.

Filipinos there who would like to avail of the registration are reminded to bring a copy of their passport's data page. END
