
29 June 2012 - The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco together with its attached agencies, the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Department of Trade and Industry's (DTI's) Philippine Trade and Investment Center participated in the Pagdiriwang: A Philippine Independence Celebration from June 9 to10 at the Seattle Center in Seattle, Washington.

Organized yearly by the Filipino Cultural Heritage Society of Washington, the festival commemorated the 114th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine Independence.
It was also part of the Seattle Center's Festival 2012, a year-long festivities organized by local ethnic communities which celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the 1962 Seattle World's Fair.

The new tourism campaign "It's More Fun in the Philippines" was successfully launched during the event wherein more 15,000 people joined the celebration, capped by captivating performances of Bayanihan National Dance Company and artists of The Filipino Channel (TFC), Mr. Sam Milby and Ms. Sheryn Regis.
A tourism booth was set up, and banners of Philippine destinations were displayed at Seattle Center during the two-day festivities and at the Benoroya Hall where an evening show of the said performers were held.
Philippine Business Forum: Seattle 2012 was also organized within the Pagdiriwang celebrations by the Consulate and its attached agencies with the Filipino Cultural Heritage Society of Washington and the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of the Pacific Northwest.
