Philippine Independence Day Celebrations in New South Wales Runs from 2 June to 8 July

18 July 2012 - The Philippine Consulate General in Sydney reported that activities to celebrate the 114th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence were held in various areas of New South Wales (NSW), Australia, from 2 June to 8 July.

The celebrations which started in the cities of Wagga Wagga and Bathurst on June 2nd culminated with a flag raising ceremony in Dubbo, 406 kilometers from Sydney, on July 8th.

Other activities organized by Filipino community (Filcom) associations included cultural programs and Independence Day balls.

Several Filcom groups also collaborated with local city councils in organizing flag-raising ceremonies. These ceremonies were held in Blacktown, Parramatta, Campbelltown, Penrith, Gosford and Dubbo. END
