5 March 2013 - The Philippine Embassy in Singapore celebrated the 27th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution with a simple but meaningful commemoration of the event on two separate occasions.
At the Filipino community meeting held on February 16, the video documentary entitled “Ninoy: The Heart and the Soul” was shown to around 70 Filipino community leaders and members in Singapore who attended the meeting.
On February 25, the celebration of EDSA 27th anniversary led by Ambassador Minda Calaguian-Cruz began with the flag-raising ceremony held at the public area of the Embassy, and attended by the Embassy officers and staff and members of the Filipino community.
A day-long video-showing of the documentary entitled “Ninoy: The Heart and the Soul” was held at the public area. The same video documentary was also viewed by the Embassy personnel before their monthly staff meeting on the same day.
The celebration ended with the singing of the patriotic song “Bayan Ko” by Embassy personnel. END
