6 March 2013 — The Philippine Embassy in Pretoria led by Ambassador Constancio R. Vingno commemorated the 27th Anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution on February 24 with a flag-raising ceremony and film showings about Ninoy Aquino and the Revolution.
The Embassy’s commemoration opened with a flag-raising ceremony attended by Embassy officers, staff and members of the Filipino community. This was followed by the showing of “Puso At Diwa Ni Ninoy” and “The Heart and The Soul.”
In his remarks before the film-showing, Ambassador Vingno encouraged those in attendance to continue honoring the gifts of the revolution and said that true freedom can only be achieved with the continued cooperation of Filipinos within their communities, their leaders and the world.
After the film showing, the guests enjoyed merienda prepared by the Embassy and members of the Filipino community. END
