8 March 2013 - The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand celebrated the 27th Anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution with the members of the Filipino community on February 25 at the Embassy grounds.
The celebration started with a flag raising ceremony at 9:00 am, welcome remarks from Ambassador Jocelyn Batoon-Garcia, fellowship breakfast and showing of documentary video entitled: Ninoy: The Heart and The Soul.
In her welcome speech, Ambassador Batoon-Garcia reminded the members of the Filipino community how the Filipino people united to gain back democracy through the bloodless People Power Revolution at EDSA and expounded on how much the Philippines has achieved since.
With this year’s celebration theme: “Pilipinas Natin, Abot Tanaw Na”, the Ambassador urged the guests to continue supporting President Benigno S. Aquino III’s economic programs and initiatives for the Philippines to fully achieve economic growth. END
