30 January 2010- The Philippine Consulate General in Saipan, CNMI, USA, welcomed Carmelina Velasquez as its new labor representative. Velasquez arrived in Saipan on January 26, 2010.
Velasquez participated in the Regional Policy Dialogue on Harnessing the Development Potentials of Remittances in Italy on May 9, 2009. She also participated in the Marketing Mission in Canada on August 2008.
Born on November 11, 1952 at Baliuag, Bulacan, Carmelina is married to Danilo Velasquez and blessed with three children. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts major in Sociology degree from the University of Sto. Tomas, Manila as well as Masters degree in Public Administration from the Development Academy of the Philippines.
The Philippine Consulate General in Saipan bid farewell to outgoing Labor Attaché Joan Lourdes D. Lavilla. She leaves Saipan at the conclusion of her four-year tour of duty. END
