4 February 2010- The Philippine Embassy in Brunei reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) held an Orientation on its programs and services at Rentokil Initial Sdn Bhd Staff House in Kilanas on Friday, 29 January 2010.
The briefing was organized to ensure better understanding of the various services available at the Philippine Embassy, particularly of labour and welfare services, and provide on-site POEA OEC and OWWA/SSS/Pag-ibig membership coverage.
During the orientation following matters were discussed:
- Labour, financial literacy programs and SSS membership and benefits by Labor Attaché Elizabeth O. Recio;
- Programs and services offered by Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) such as membership renewal, insurance coverage, educational and training benefits and livelihood loan programs, by Welfare Officer Zenaida Ramos; and
- Updates on PAG-IBIG membership, benefits and coverage, by Pag-ibig Representative Ms. Arlina Feliciano.
This activity was attended by about 43 workers of RENTOKIL and a part of the series of planned visits to various Staff Houses of OFW's working in Brunei Darussalam for CY 2010. END
