04 February 2010 - The Commission on Appointments (CA) confirmed the appointments of seven Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (AEPs) and two officers of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) during its plenary session yesterday.
Confirmed by the CA were:
1. Linglingay F. Lacanlale - AEP to the Kingdom of Thailand and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. She is currently the AEP to Austria.
2. Lourdes O. Yparraguire - AEP to the Republic of Austra, with concurrent jurisdiction over the Republic of Croatia, the Republic of Slovenia, and the Slovak Republic. She is the Assistant Secretary for American Affairs.3. Nestor N. Padalhin - AEP to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, with concurrent jurisdiction over the Republic of Benin, Burkina Faso, the Republic of Cameroon, the Republic of Cape Verde, the Central African Republic, the Republic of Cote d' Ivoire, the Republic of Equitorial Guinea, the Gabonese Republic, the Republic of Gambia, the Republic of Ghana, the Republic of Guinea, the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, the Republic of Liberia, Sao Tome and Principe, the Republic of Senegal, the Republic of Sierra Leone and Togo. He is vice-chairman of the Overseas Absentee Voting Secretariat and Special Assistant at the Office of the Undersecretary for Special and Ocean Concerns.
4. Romeo L. Manalo - AEP to the Republic of Italy. He is the Chief Coordinator of the Office of the Secretary.
5. Eva G. Betita - AEP to the Federative Republic of Brazil, with concurrent jurisdiction ovr the Republic of Columbia, the Co-operative Republic of Guyana and the Republic of Suriname. She is the Philippine Consul-General in Sydney, Australia
6. Bayani V. Mangibin - AEP to Iraq. He is the Chair-Alternate to the Technical Cooperation Council of the Philippines
7. Bahnarim A. Guinomla - AEP to the People's Republic of Bangladesh with concurrent jurisdiction over the Democractic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Republic of Maldives. He is the Assistant Secretary for DFA Mindanao.
The CA also confirmed the promotion of two officers.
