80 OFWs Escape Violence in Syria

30 January 2013 – The Philippine Embassy in Damascus reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) that 80 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who availed of the Government’s Mandatory Repatriation Program (MRP) will soon be in the safety of their homeland.

The group are scheduled to arrive at 6:30 a.m. tomorrow, January 31 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal I aboard Emirates flight EK 336.

Their arrival will bring the total number of repatriates to 3,451.

The DFA appeals to all Filipinos who are still in Syria to seek immediate repatriation as the security situation in the country continues to deteriorate. For assistance they may call the Embassy at 963-11-6132626.

The relatives of Filipinos in Syria may also provide the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) with latest information regarding their loved ones’ present location and contact details in Syria.
