08 March 2010 - The winners of the national essay-writing contest sponsored by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the National Organizing Committee (NOC) of the Special Non-Aligned Movement Ministerial Meeting on Interfaith Dialogue and Cooperation for Peace and Development (SNAMMM) were announced after the final deliberations held last March 2 at the DepEd in Pasig City.

Three high school seniors garnered the highest scores.  First place was Ana E. Valeriano, from Bauan Technical School, Batangas with "Interfaith Initiatives: What It Means to Me and to My Country."

Garnering second place was Reynaldo V. David from the San Miguel National High School, Bulacan with "We are the Children of the Moon", while third place went to Karina Lei Relatado from Digos City National High School, Davao del Sur with "An Option for Peace and Development"
