18 March 2013 – Filipino designer Pia Gladys Perey paid a courtesy call on Consul General Maria Hellen Barber De La Vega on March 13 at the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles.

Pia Gladys Perey, the designer behind the PGP label, was born and raised in the country town of Tagaytay in the Philippines. Pia was exposed early to fashion, sewing and pattern-making as a child. She spent her school breaks not playing with her friends but watching her grandmother design clothing patterns.

These days, Ms. Perey’s own line, bearing her initials PGP, is making rounds on international runways and red carpets around the globe. Her creations were worn by Hollywood A-listers, such as Angelina Jolie, Gabrielle Union, Eva Longoria and Carrie Underwood.

Ms. Perey was in Los Angeles for her solo show at the Style Fashion Week which was held on March 13. END
