Philippine Embassy in Riyadh Successfully Holds 6th Consular Outreach for 2013

19 March 2013 - The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh successfully conducted its sixth mobile consular outreach services or Embassy-on-Wheels (EOW) for the year. The EOW was held at the Al Jazeera International School in Al Khobar’s Rakah District from Riyadh 6th consular outreach 1March 07 to 08.

The four-member EOW Team, led by Vice Consul Red Genotiva, facilitated 405 e-passport applications, 32 passports extensions, 13 registrations of birth, and 160 notarials, five (5) authentication of documents with 330 new e-passports released.

A total of 945 Filipinos were served during the EOW in Al Khobar.

Riyadh 6th consular outreach2The EOW Team was augmented by four (4) encoders. They were also assisted by Filipino volunteers in the Eastern Province.

Vice Consul Genotiva expressed his appreciation for the continued support of Filipino volunteers to the Embassy’s consular outreach services program.

The next EOW in Al Khobar will be held on March 28 to 29 at Al Jazeera International School. END

Los Angeles South East Asia Trade Connect Workshop1

19 March 2013 – Philippine Consul General to Los Angeles Ma. Hellen Barber De La Vega was the keynote speaker at the Southeast Asia Trade Connect Workshop of the Port of Los Angeles held at the California State University (CSU), Fullerton, Garden Grove Campus on March 14.

Speakers at the Southeast Asia Trade Connect Workshop included experts in trade development, the Port of Los Angeles, United States (US) Department of Commerce, US Small Business Administration, Center for International Trade and Development, L.A. Customs Brokers & Freight Forwarders Association and TDL International Law Firm. 

The Workshop aimed to connect participants with expert information and services in Southeast Asia, particularly, the Philippines, Vietnam and Myanmar.

Consul General Barber De La Vega gave a general overview of the economy and investment climate of the Philippines, highlighting sectors with growing economic and financial trends. END
