RP Embassy in Poland Reiterates Warning on “Mushroom Pickers” Job Offer

13 February 2010 - The Philippine Embassy in Poland reiterated its warning to job applicants for deployment to Poland not to proceed, specifically those recruited as "mushroom pickers".

"There are approximately 86 Filipino women deployed or working as mushroom pickers  currently in Poland.  Majority of these workers are not happy with their jobs due to very low wages, unfavorable working conditions and/or substandard accommodations," Philippine Ambassador to Poland Alejandro D. del Rosario said.

German Promotes the Philippines Through Photography

Berlin_Ati_Atihan13 February 2010 - The Philippine Embassy in Berlin reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) that German photographer Mr. Hans-Jürgen Odrowski took 5000 photographs of the Philippines during his eighth trip to the Philippines last January 2010, chose 60 of his personal favorites and displayed them at a photo exhibit held at the Bezirksamt (district office), Wandsbek City, in Hamburg.

The main attraction of the exhibit featured 24 photos of the Ati-Atihan festival in Panay.
