Philippine Embassy in Berlin Holds Consular Outreach in Frankfurt

21 March 2013 - A team from the Philippine Embassy in Berlin, Germany composed of Ms. Flordeliza Delos Santos, Ms. Melinda Hernais, Ms. Lianna Judith Sale and Ms. Lota Fajardo of the Embassy’s Consular Section conducted a mobile consular outreach service at Pfarrkirche St. Ignatius in Frankfurt am Main – Innenstadt on March 16.

The four-member consular team facilitated 235 e-passport applications, four (4) replacement of lost passports, 32 notarials and certifications, 10 civil registrations, and nine (9) authentication of documents.

Service hours were extended until past midnight to accommodate the huge number of Filipino applicants. Fr. Benedicto Pola allowed the use of the parish hall to allow the consular team to process all applications.

Ms. Cecile Joy Atienza-Krause, Consular Assistant of the Philippine Honorary Consul in Stuttgart, was present to help manage the flow of applicants and ensure order during the activity.   The consular team was further assisted by Filipino volunteers.

Philippine Ambassador to Germany Maria Cleofe R. Natividad expressed her appreciation to the Filipino community in Frankfurt, particularly Fr. Pola and Fr. Melchor Braga, for their support to the Embassy’s consular outreach. END

 

Philippine Military Students Participate in Australian Defense College International Day

21 March 2013- The Philippine Embassy in Canberra reported to the Department of Foreign Asffiars that Philippine military students at the Australian Defense College (ADC), led by Lt. Col. Romeo N. Bautista III of the Philippine Army, successfully organized the Philippine participation in the International Day of ADC held at the College grounds at Weston Creek on March 16.

Canberra 2The Philippine group was able to showcase some Filipino delicacies such as adobo, pancit, beef kaldereta, ube sticky rice, maja blanca and leche flan. There was also a display of Philippine products and tourism and information materials which were provided by the Embassy.

The event was also highlighted by various cultural performances showcasing the different cultures in Australia, including that of the Philippines. The ACT Filipino Australian Social & Cultural Association performed the Igorot and Muslim folk dances.

The International Day event aimed at promoting multicultural dialogue among Australian Defence College Overseas Course members, their families and the Australian community.

Philippine Defense and Armed Forces Attaché Capt. Ernesto Enriquez represented the Ambassador to the said event. END
