31 August 2012 - The Department of Foreign Affairs commemorates the 61st Anniversary of the PH-US Mutual Defense Treaty, which is the basis of the defense and security cooperation between the two allied countries. The Department also acknowledges the alliance's contribution to the peace, security, and prosperity in the region.
The Department is resolute in further building on this security partnership as we address present regional and global challenges, including maritime security, climate change, nuclear proliferation, terrorism, and transnational crime. END
