DFA Lowers Crisis Alert Level for Bahrain (Updated)

6 June 2011 - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has lowered the crisis alert level for Bahrain from level 2 to level 1 in view of the lifting of the state of emergency in said country, as announced by the Bahraini government.

DFA Raises Alert Level 4 in Sanaa

6 June 2011-The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has raised the crisis alert level in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa to alert level 4, due to worsened politico-security situation in the city.

This was also after an attack at the Yemeni presidential palace happened, which left Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh and some members of his government injured and seven presidential guards killed.

Phl Embassy in London Provides Hotline Numbers for Filipinos Affected by Travel Disruptions in UK

26 May 2011 - The Philippine Embassy in London provided hotline numbers for Filipino travellers in the United Kingdom and their relatives, in case they will require assistance or advice due to the travel disruption caused by drifting ash from the Grimsvötn volcano in Iceland.

DFA Consular Affairs Office to Accommodate Appointments Scheduled on June 20 on June 13-17

14 May 2011 - The Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of Consular Affairs (DFA-OCA) wishes to inform the public that all applicants scheduled for a passport appointment on June 20 (Monday) will be accommodated from June 13 to 17 (Monday to Friday).

This is  in compliance with Proclamation No. 154 declaring June 20 as a special non-working holiday, in view of the 150th birth anniversary of Dr. Jose P. Rizal.

Phl Consulate General in Macau Warns Against Illegal Recruiters of Galaxy Entertainment Group

11 May 2011 - The Philippine Consulate General in Macau warned prospective overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) against job offers from individuals claiming to be appointed agents of Galaxy Entertainment Group, the operator of a large, new hotel in Macau.

In a report to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the Consulate said that it received a letter from Galaxy, stating that there have been cases of fraud involving recruitment of workers by individuals claiming to be appointed agents of the entertainment group.
