Office of Consular Affairs Announces Mobile Passport Services Schedule from March to April 2012

26 January 2012 - The Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of Consular Affairs wishes to inform the public of its Mobile Passport Services (MPS) schedule from March to April 2012.

Consular teams will be in the following areas on the dates specified:

Phl Embassy, Consulates General Warn Filipinos on Rising Cases of Illegal Recruitment of Workers in China

24 January 2012- The Philippine Embassy in Beijing and the Philippine Consulates General in Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Xiamen, Hong Kong and Macau would like to advise the public to be wary of employment offers in semi-skilled jobs in China, as these sectors remain restricted and closed to foreigners.

DFA Raises Alert Level 3 in South Sudan

10 January 2012 - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced today that it raises the crisis alert level in South Sudan to alert level 3 (voluntary repatriation) in light of the deteriorating security situation caused by inter-ethnic violence in the country, as well as for the protection of Filipinos in the area.

"For prudence's sake, we have raised crisis alert level 3 in South Sudan in light of escalating violence in the capital where most of our nationals are located.  We are ready to move our people out, should they wish to leave," Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert F. del Rosario said.

Advisory on Travel to Thailand

04 January 2012 - The Department of Foreign Affairs announced today the lifting of the non-essential travel advisory to Bangkok, Thailand. Filipino nationals may now undertake travels to Bangkok.
