PNP Dragon Boat Team Cops Medals at 1Malaysia International Dragon Boat Festival

29 June 2010-The 38-member Philippine National Police (PNP) Dragon Boat Team won medals at the 1Malaysia International Dragon Boat Festival held in Putrajaya, Malaysia, on June 18-20.

The PNP Team won two gold medals each for the mixed and ladies categories of 12 crew 500 meters and two silver medals each for the mixed category of 22 crew 500 meters and men category of 12 crew 500 meters.

Supported by the Malaysian Ministry of Youth and Sports, the festival was attended by 11 teams from six countries namely, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and the United Kingdom, and from the Special Administrative Regions of Hongkong and Macau.

The festival was affiliated with the International Dragon Boat Federation.  END
