KOREA INVITES RP PARTICIPATION IN THE 2ND TRAINING COURSE FOR INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY

The Department of Foreign Affairs announced today that the Development Gateway Foundation-Korea Training Center (DGF-KTC) under the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) of the  Korean Ministry of Information and Communication is inviting for one Philippine participant to the 2nd Training Course for Information and Communication Technology entitled “Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)” scheduled on 02-12 March 2003 in Daejon, Korea.

This course aims to encourage trainees from developing countries to take the lead in applying the VoIP technology to their countries’  ICT industries, so that the countries could be driven to boost ICT business for economic growth with considerable benefits from technology. The program is targeted to those who take mid- and high-positions in either public or private ICT sector of developing countries enough to have an influence on the development of the ICT field. Specifically, government and local government officials involved in the policy-making process, business executives, researchers and consultants in the ICT area.

The DGF-KTC Program provides people from developing countries throughout the world with ICT training courses in accordance with the purpose of DGF to reduce poverty and support sustainable development through the use of ICT.
DGF-KTC has successfully completed its first training course entitled “Economic, Social and Legal Aspect of the Internet.” Last December with thirteen trainees from ten developing countries.
