DFA ANNOUNCES RESULTS OF 2003 FSO EXAMINATIONS
The Department of Foreign Affairs today announced that twenty-five of 237 examinees passed the Foreign Service Officer (FSO) written and oral examinations held in July 2002 and January 2003 respectively.
“I wish to congratulate the examinees for successfully making it through the Foreign Service examinations,” Foreign Affair Secretary Blas F. Ople said. “The FSO exams attract some of the best and brightest that our country has to offer. By besting the rest, these examinees have proven themselves worthy of joining the ranks of our country’s top diplomats in crafting and pursuing our nation’s Foreign Policy. This is testament to the Department’s commitment in pursuing a world-class Foreign Service for the Philippines.”

The FSO examination consists of the qualifying,
written and oral examinations. Examinees must obtain a grade of at least
80% in the qualifying test before they are admitted to the written exams.
Candidates must then earn a minimum grade of 75% in the written exams for
admission to the oral exams. Candidates must obtain a grade of at least
80% in the oral portion to become eligible for appointment as FSO IV. -
