04 December 2004 – The Department of Foreign Affairs today announced that the Libyan Contingent of the International Monitoring Team (IMT), GRP-MILF Peace Talks will arrive on Monday, 06 December 2004 at 4:30 a.m. at the NAIA 3 aboard Qatar Airways flight number 644.
The Libyan Contingent is headed by Mr. Mohamed Mohamed Suwaisi with Mr. Abubakar Ibrahim Wanis as member. They will be welcomed by Undersecretary Rodolfo Garcia, Deputy Adviser on the Peace Process; Mr. Musib Buat, MILF Technical Committee; and Major General Dato’ Zulkifeli bin Mohd Zin, IMT Head of Mission.
The Department said that the other members of the welcome entourage are Brig.Gen. Alexander Yano, Chairman of the GRP CCCH; Mr. Rico Garcia, Department of Foreign Affairs; and Director Ryan Sullivan, Head of the GRP Panel Secretariat; for the GRP; Mr. Musib Buat and Abdula Camlian for the MILF; and Malaysian Ambassador Iskandar Sarudin and Col. Hadi Bin Hussin, Malaysian Defense Attaché of the Embassy of Libya; for the Diplomatic Corp.
The
contingent will be briefed on the GRP-MILF peace process, the ceasefire
agreement, the International Monitoring Team and Mindanao backgrounder
before they will fly to Cotabato City on Wednesday, 08 December 2004. END
