DFA MOBILE PASSPORT SERVICES : AFTER LATEST SUCCESS, PASIG ASKS FOR ANOTHER ROUND
29 July 2004 – In line with the program of the Department of Foreign Affairs to bring its passport services directly to the people and in support of the various government programs for migrant workers, the Department’s Passport Mobile Team joined the leaders and residents of Pasig during their celebration of Araw ng Pasig on 17 July 2004 and successfully rendered passport services to a large number of Pasiguenos at the Pasig City Sports Center.
In a letter to Foreign Affairs Secretary Delia Domingo Albert on behalf of the Pasic City Government, Mayor Vicente P. Eusebio of Pasig City extended “profoundest gratitude to the Department of Foreign Affairs through the Office of Consular Affairs for the successful One-Day Passporting activity held last July 17, 2004 in the City of Pasig.”
On her part, Foreign Affairs Secretary Delia Domingo Albert said that “the Department is committed to working closely with local governments to bring our passport services to the people.” She added that the Department is also deeply grateful to Mayor Eusebio and the people and City Government of Pasig for all their support for mobile passport services. Mr. Honesto Ramos, Head of the Regional Consular Office Coordinating Center, headed the 20-man mobile consular team deployed in Pasig. Around 605 new passports were issued in that day while previous similar activity in Pasig registered issuance of more than a thousand new passports.
In his letter to Secretary Albert, Mayor Eusebio also requested for another round of mobile passport services, saying that “we look forward to your generous approval of this humble request in the name of the people whom we both love to serve.” Mayor Eusebio requested the DFA for mobile passport services for 16 October 2004 also at the Pasig City Sports Center.

Department will gladly grant and we look forward to serving the passport
needs of Pasig as well as other cities and towns in the Philippines,” Secretary
