DFA MOBILE PASSPORT TEAM ROLLS INTO NUEVA VIZCAYA
18 March 2004 – Like so many other recipients of the Mobile Passport Service, residents of Sta. Fe municipality, Nueva Vizcaya were able to avail of passport services in their hometown when the Regional Consular Office of the DFA in Tuguegarao conducted a mobile passport service there from 13-14 March 2004.
According to DFA Assistant Secretary Teresita G. Barsana of the Office of Consular Affairs, the Tuguegarao RCO reported that the mobile passport activity was well attended. The Tuguegarao RCO Mobile Passport Team was comprised of ten personnel, led by Officer-In-Charge Mr. Antonio M. Allam. According to Mr. Allam the program is intended to bring necessary passport and other consular services closer to the people in the outlying areas of Tuguegarao. DFA Acting Secretary Sonia C. Brady lauded the efforts of the mobile passport team.
RCO Officer-In-Charge Mr. Allam said that this was the first time that the mobile passport service and other consular related services was held in the municipality of Sta. Fe, Nueva Vizcaya. RCO Tuguegarao in cooperation with the offices of Governor Rodolfo Agabayani and Mayor Teodorico Padilla, held the mobile passport service at the Municipal Hall of Sta. Fe.
Another mobile passport service
is scheduled to be conducted by the Tuguegarao RCO on 27-28 March
2004 at the municipality of Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya and this
will be the third time that the Tuguegarao RCO would be conducting
mobile services there. The scheduled passport mobile service for
Bayombong will be conducted at the Provincial Capitol according to
Mr. Allam. The Tuguegarao RCO was opened five years ago on
12 April 1999. Mr. Allam said that the mobile passport program in
Nueva Vizcaya is estimated to benefit around 700 people. - END
