CONGEN VILLAMAYOR HEADS
JAPANESE DELEGATION TO MANILA FAME 2004;
SEEN AS BIG BOOST
TO EXHIBITION'S REVENUES
20 October 2004 -- In a move that is seen to boost sales for Philippine products showcased in the Manila Furniture, Fashion Accessories Merchandise Exhibition (FAME) International Trade Fair 2004, Philippine Consul General to Osaka, Japan Antonio P. Villamayor is currently in Manila as head of a 30-member delegation of Japanese businessmen to the annual Fair to be held at the World Trade Center in Roxas Boulevard from 21-24 October.
The delegation, composed of high level officials of various Japanese corporations which import furniture, house wares, handicrafts and other commercial items from Philippine manufacturers is the third group to visit the fair that is personally accompanied by Congen Villamayor. For the past three years, the Japanese delegation has consistently been one of the strongest performers among the exhibit's participants in terms of order volume and follow-through on previous orders. As such, the delegation represents one of the biggest revenue sources for the exhibition.
The trade mission is a joint
annual project of the Philippine Consulate General and the Philippine Trade
and Investment Center headed by Special Trade Representative Ramon A. Baltazar.
Assisting the group are the Consulate's Foreign Information Officer Eleanor
