SECRETARY ROMULO ASSURES DIPLOMATIC CORPS OF GOVERNMENT COMMITMENT TO PURSUE PEACE INITIATIVES

2005 – Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto G. Romulo assures the Diplomatic
Corps of the commitment of the Government to achieve a comprehensive and
durable peace in the country at a briefing on the Joint Agreement on Safety
and Immunity Guarantees (JASIG) with the National Democratic Front.
Secretary Romulo said “we will continue to pursue, with vigor and commitment,
our peace agenda – foremost of which is the support for peace initiatives
of local government units, communities and civil society.”
The Diplomatic Briefing was held at the Bulwagang Blas F. Ople, DFA and
attended by the Ambassadors and Embassy representatives of Norway, the
EU countries, the US, Australia, Canada and the ASEAN. (Mark
