SECURITY COUNCIL VOTE

02 August 2005 -- Ambassador Lauro L. Baja Jr., Permanent Representative to the United Nations, during the voting of the Security Council on the extension of peacekeeping operations in Lebanon and Georgia on Friday. Behind him are Alternate Representatives Anacleto Rei Lacanilao III, Ma. Teresa Taguiang, Ma. Rosario Aguinaldo and Elmer Cato. This September, the Philippines will once again assume the presidency of the Security Council and may chair a summit of the leaders of the 15 member states that make up the powerful UN body.
