14 December 2005 – The Philippine Consulate General in Osaka reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that the Consulate delivered consular services to hundreds of Filipinos on 4 December 2005 at Toyota City in Aichi Prefecture, Japan.

Upon the invitation of the Toyota Filipino Community (TFC), Consul General Ma. Lourdes Ramiro Lopez and the Consulate’s officers and staff took the three-hour road trip to Toyota City and served over 160 applicants from the city and nearby Nagoya City.  The Consular Team provided the applicants with various consular services such as passport renewal, amendment, marriage, notarization and authentication. They also registered 26 new Overseas Absentee Voter (OAV) applicants, and released the OAV IDs of those who registered in 2003.

The Consulate General regularly conducts consular services in the city – home ground of the Toyota Motor Corporation – where hundreds of Filipinos, who are mostly married to Japanese nationals, reside and work.  END
