SEASON IN WASHINGTON
22 December 2005 – The Philippine Embassy in Washington D.C. reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that Filipino chorale groups and a native string band performed Filipino Christmas carols during the Paskong Pinoy: A Philippine Christmas Concert held on 03 December 2005 at the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center in Washington.
The free concert showcased the talents of the Filipino Choir of St. Columba, Chosen Few; Buklod Kaibigan, El Shaddai Choir, and Northern Virginia Rondalla. The concert impressed both the jampacked audience and the Center’s officials, who even proposed to make it an annual tradition.
Paskong Pinoy provided a glimpse of traditional Filipino Christmas season celebration that lasts from mid-December through the first Sunday in January with the celebration of Tres Reyes, the Feast of the Three Kings. END
