FILIPINA
CHEF FEATURED IN
PRIMETIME
CZECH TV SHOW
22 December 2005 – The Philippine Embassy in Prague reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that the Filipino talent in cooking was recognized when Philippine residence chef, Ms. Nita Ambil, was featured in two 30-minute episodes of a primetime Czech show “Tescoma Prima Varecka” on 8 December 2005 that featured both Czech and international cuisines.
“The free TV exposure is expected to arouse interest not only in the Philippine cuisine but also in the country in general, focusing on its culture and what it offers as a tourist destination,” Ambassador Carmelita R. Salas said.
Ms. Ambil first presented the Filipino traditional dish of “Chicken Pork Adobo” and Filipino dessert “Maja Blanca.” The second episode of the show, which was aired on 15 December 2005, showed Ms. Ambil preparing “Rellenong Alimango” and introduced Philippines’ very own “Tanduay Rhum” and “Salabat” as cocktail drinks.
Each episode also included interviews with Ms. Maria Genitrix Nanes, Attaché and Administrative Officer and Ms. Mildred Sayurin, Attaché and Cultural Officer. Popular Philippine spots were projected in the show like the Banawe Rice Terraces, Chocolate Hills, Subic Bay and Camiguin Island.
