• Remedios Rico Daniel (Now properly accounted for and thus removed from the ‘missing list,’ per report of Philippine Embassy Bangkok.)

• Michael Galang (A fisherman who confirmed that he and his companions remain safe in their fishing vessel and thus, removed from the ‘missing list.’)

• Rocillene Ginoo*  (Removed from the ‘missing list’ upon confirmation of  Mr.  Rudy, her father from Davao City,  that she is safe and fine in Thailand, per report of Philippine Embassy, Bangkok.)

• Jovita Gomez a.k.a. Wijitra Charooenpong (She is a teacher at the Cholphinin College who confirmed that she was not affected by the tsunami, thus removed from the ‘whereabouts unknown’ list.)

• Marian Pasag (She has requested that her name be removed from the list of survivors since she was at the 3rd floor of the Sofitel Hotel in Khao Lak and was not directly affected by the tsunami.)

• Christine Ramos (The Interpol Manila, National Central Bureau Secretariat informed the DFA that the Norwegian Police has recorded Ms. Ramos, Filipino national, born on 27 November 1971, as one of the foreign nationals who have been located and now safe after the tsunami disaster.)

• Santonina Gonzales Sabihon (Now accounted for and thus removed from the ‘whereabouts unknown’ list, per report of the Philippine Embassy in Singapore.)

• Edna Atienza Suess* (Removed from the ‘missing’ list upon confirmation of her sister, Ms. Aurora Atienza, that Ms. Suess is fine and had gone back to Munich, Germany on 05 January 2004.)

• Alvin Paullo Valledor* (A musician whose name was previously included in the ‘for verification’ list.  Friends of Mr. Valledor reported to Philippine Embassy Bangkok that he was not in anyway affected by the tsunmai incident because he was already in Davao City when the disaster occurred.)

The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand has also posted on its website <www.philembassy-bangkok.net> the contact information for families and friends with possible leads regarding the missing or deceased Filipinos.  The Philippine Embassy website will also post regular updates of the list of Filipino tsunami-victims.

The Department reiterates its request for relatives in the Philippines of the 7 missing Filipinos and 4 Filipinos whose whereabouts are unknown, to immediately communicate with Ms. Sheila Solas of the Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs, DFA, through telephone number 8344594, for the collection by the NBI Forensic Department in Manila of DNA samples that will assist the Philippine Forensic Team in Phuket in searching for the 11 missing Filipinos.  END
