SIX FILIPINO ARTISTS DISPLAY TALENT IN A  JOINT ART EXHIBIT

27 January 2005—The Philippine  Embassy in Brunei reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that six Filipino artists displayed their collection of expressions, emotions and experiences as depicted on various medium being shown in a month-long joint art exhibition called Faces, which opened on 21 January 2005 at the Alliance Francaise.

The works of artists Amor Aglosos, Glenn Cruz, Edwin Lester Magno, Frazier Jawadil, Leon Jasa, Jr., and Jeffrey Rogador were expressed on papier mache, video installation, mixed media, pastel, oil on canvas and acrylic on wood.

Ambassador Virginia H. Benavidez, who was the guest of honor at the opening night, commended the artists’ efforts and said that “the exhibit is a good venue to showcase the artistic talent of the Filipino.” She also added that she had long wanted to host such an exhibit in Brunei and was very thankful to the artists  for their laudable collaboration and Alliance Francaise for providing the opportunity for the artists to showcase their skills.

The exhibition earned the admiration from Bruneian art enthusiasts and distinguished guests, which include French Ambassador to Brunei Thierry Borja de Mozata. END
