RIYADH PE CLARIFIES ISSUANCE OF POLICE CLEARANCE TO OFWs LEAVING SAUDI ARABIA
12 July 2005 – Ambassador Bahnarim Guinomla of the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that he has issued an advisory stating that the KSA Police does not issue police clearance to any OFW who has left KSA for good.
Ambassador Guinomla issued the advisory in view of numerous requests from former OFWs who had worked in the Kingdom and were intending to migrate to other countries whose Embassies require the submission of such a clearance.
Ambassador Guinomla clarified
that what the Philippine Embassy issues is a certification that the requesting
party does not have a derogatory record with the Embassy. The applicant
also pays PHP100 at the DFA Home Office in Manila for the said service.
