PRESIDENT ARROYO TO ADDRESS FOREIGN SERVICE CORPS IN MALACAÑANG ON 107TH DFA ANNIVERSARY
18 July 2005 – President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo will address in Malacañang on Tuesday, 19 July 2005, the Foreign Service Corps of the Philippines on the occasion of the 107th Foundation Anniversary of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The commemorations will begin with a flag-raising ceremony at 8:00 a.m. at the main entrance of the Department of Foreign Affairs in Pasay City. This will be followed by a flower offering at the statue of Apolinario Mabini, First Foreign Affairs Secretary of the Philippines, at the DFA lobby.
Secretary of Foreign Affairs Alberto G. Romulo is also scheduled to open the DFA Day Photo Exhibit “The Department of Foreign Affairs: Making a World Class Career Service”, which will be on display at the DFA lobby.
The entire Foreign Service Corps in the Home Office, along with guests, will then proceed to Malacañang for the main part of the commemorations.
The highlight of the program
In Malacañang will be the anniversary remarks of President Arroyo,
who is the chief architect of Philippine Foreign Policy. The program
will also include the presentation of awards to outstanding DFA officers
and employees. END
