16 March 2005—Senate President and Commission on Appointments (CA) Chairman Franklin M. Drilon congratulates Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto G. Romulo after the latter was unanimously confirmed by the CA. Also in the picture are Ambassadors Acmat D. Omar (3rd from left), Elizabeth Buensuceso (4th L) and Delia Domingo Albert (5th L), who were also confirmed by the CA as Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Sultanate of Oman, People’s Democratic Republic of Laos and Federal Republic of Germany, respectively. The newly confirmed DFA officials are joined by the members of the CA and the Chairperson of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the CA Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago.  The Committee deliberated and endorsed the appointments of Secretary Romulo and the three Ambassadors.
