28 March 2005—  Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto G. Romulo receives at the DFA  Ambassador-Designate H.E Emaleen Abd Rahman Teo of Brunei Darussalam. Secretary Romulo and Ambassador Teo discussed the next meeting in Brunei of the Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) and cooperation in national disaster relief, training on information technology, expansion of trade and tourism, increase of shipping and air linkages, halal certification, defense cooperation and training of Madrasah educators from Southern Philippines.

Secretary Romulo is optimistic that with Brunei’s full diplomatic representation in the Philippines, the friendly bilateral relations will continue to expand for the benefit of the two countries.  (Mark Santos)
