March 2005 – A representative from the DFA Regional Consular Office in
Region IX examines the passport application forms of Filipino returnees
from Malaysia who are at the government’s inter-agency One-Stop Processing
Center in Zamboanga City. Filipinos who returned from Malaysia during
the amnesty period and who want to go back as properly documented workers
are being assisted at the One-Stop Processing Center for all possible documentary
requirements needed for their reemployment in Malaysia. The Malaysian
Immigration has sent 5 officials to the Zamboanga City Center and another
5 officials to the Center in Bongao, Tawi Tawi to assist in the documentation
of Filipinos who are expected to return to the Philippines to process their
working papers to be able to immediately return to their jobs in Malaysia.
