18 March 2005 – Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto G. Romulo signs the Memorandum of Agreement among the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Philippine Postal Corporation and the Tulay Foundation Inc. on the issuance of the commemorative stamps for the state visit to the Philippines from 26 to 28 April 2005 of President Hu Jintao of the People’s Republic of China. Also signing the MOA are Mr. Dario Rama (L), Postmaster General and CEO of PhilPost and Mr. Manuel O. Chua ( R) Chairman, Tulay Foundation, Inc., witnessed by officials of the DFA, PhilPost and Tulay Foundation. The Agreement outlines the assistance to be provided by the DFA, PhilPost and the Tulay Foundation Inc. in the printing and issuance of the special stamps. “The issuance of special stamps underscores the high level of importance we place on our relations with China,” Secretary Romulo. The stamps will be officially launched on 27 April 2005, at the height of the state visit.
