DFA CONDUCTS MOBILE PASSPORT SERVICE IN DAPITAN, PAGADIAN CITIES
30 March 2005—The Department of Foreign Affairs said that a total of 873 passport applications were processed in the two-day mobile passport service held from 18 to 21 March 2005 in Dapitan City.
The five-man team led by the DFA Regional Consular Office in Zamboanga Officer-in Charge Victoria U. Salian reported to the Department that the project was undertaken successfully in coordination with the local government of Dapitan City.
Another mobile team was sent to Pagadian City on 25 March 2005 to process some 300 to 500 passport applications as requested by Zamboanga del Sur Governor Aurora Cerilles. Most of the applicants were seeking employment as domestic helpers in Lebanon.
The mobile passport
service is an initiative taken by the Department to extend services to
areas far from the DFA’s regional consular offices and save on time, money
and energy for the applicants. END
