ROMULO AND US ATTORNEY GENERAL GONZALES DISCUSS COUNTER-TERRORISM CAPACITY BUILDING;
GONZALES FORMALLY INFORMS ROMULO OF END TO TELECOMS INVESTIGATION

17 May 2005, Washington DC – Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto G. Romulo today met with US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and discussed counter-terrorism capacity building cooperation between the Philippines and the US.  During their meeting, Attorney General Gonzales formally informed Secretary Romulo that the US Department of Justice was closing its investigation of Philippine telecommunications carriers.
